SEBkinase®
SEBkinase® is a combination of two potent fibrinolytic enzymes: serrapeptase and nattokinase. First created by Vic Rathi around 2006, SEBkinase® harnesses the power of both enzymes and their synergistic effects. Serrapeptase is an enzyme belonging to the serine protease class. It was first found in silkworms, which used serrapeptase to dissolve their tough fibrous cocoons. Nattokinase also belongs to the serine protease class and is the active ingredient in an old Japanese folk remedy for cardiovascular support. Individually, each enzyme is a powerhouse with applications in inflammation support, respiratory health, and cardiovascular health. Together, they are an unbeatable one-two punch to maintain healthy living.
From Seed to You
As one of the largest serrapeptase and nattokinase manufacturers in the world, we source our SEBkinase® directly from our own large fermentation facilities. We grow our serrapeptase (Peptizyme SP®) and nattokinase (NattoSEB®) in a small fermenter (a "seed vessel"), carefully developing them until they are ready for the big leagues (enormous fermenters that are up to three stories high). Our skilled team has perfected the art of extracting and purifying enzymes for decades, maximizing the potency and therapeutic benefits and consistently delivering a superior quality enzyme that meets the highest standards for food and pharmaceutical use. In fact, our serrapeptase and nattokinase are so good, a great many of our competitors actually use our enzymes in their products.
But as the experts, we always save a little extra for our customers. Our scientists formulate AST's serrapeptase and nattokinase with a special delivery system that helps protect the enzymes from the stomach acid, delivering the best product to where you need it most.
Special Delivery
Experts know regular serrapeptase and nattokinase are delicate and susceptible to the harsh acidic conditions of the stomach. So, our researchers developed a cutting-edge delivery system to increase their efficacy: they applied a polymer called MAAC to the serrapeptase and the nattokinase. MAAC is acid resistant, and helps protect these enzymes as they pass through the stomach acid. Once they reach the basic conditions of the small intestine, the MAAC dissolves, delivering more active enzyme where it is most needed.
And we know it works: when put in a head-to-head competition by a third-party laboratory, serrapeptase using our MAAC delivery system was found to have enzyme activity significantly greater than regular serrapeptase after passing through the acidic conditions of the stomach.
Wondering if MAAC is ok to put in your body? Don't stress. MAAC, or methacrylic acid copolymer, is a phthalate-free, food-grade compound used for over 50 years and deemed safe by even the most strict food safety authorities.
